The joy of flourishing: rosebushes dominate hearts

Color, beauty and admiration. These are some of the peculiarities that the roses give to the one that finds this charm of the nature by the way. With spring showing its first signs in Porto, roses begin to emerge and, for those who want to appreciate closely, the Botanical Garden of Porto has a rose garden surrounded by a wall of camellias, which makes visitors enjoy the incredible pleasure which is nature.

From vines to hedges, the Queen of Flowers is one of the most appreciated plants in gardening these days. Differentiated by color, flower, perfume and growth properties, rose bushes have the most diverse classifications. Flat, bushy, dwarf and wild rose bushes are some examples of the species that caters to different tastes and needs.

Just as beautiful as it is demanding, the roses require attention. They demand regular care, occasional pruning and protection against pests. In order to develop properly, it is necessary to keep them in the sun for 6-7 hours a day, in an airy place but with little exposure to the wind. However, despite the necessary conditions, rose bushes do well in any type of soil, with preference for more clayey soils rich in organic matter.

Nowadays it is common to see roses decorating the most diverse places. The traditional flower of love captivates every look. Alícia Dantas, a law student, who is doing a period of mobility at the University of Porto, knows well what it is to be captivated: "This contact with flowers means gratitude. It means the call that nature gives so that human beings can value the small things of life. " "The relationship with nature reflects a little of the connection of the human being with himself. Being close to it is always a moment of reflection, of feeling exactly what is inside the heart, "she says.

That beind said, the rose bushes and nature, as a whole, touch the inside of each one and cause something to flourish within itself. Nature is a way of communicating. It's a way to love.
