Photo Ark is a National Geographic project whose purpose is to photograph all species in captivity, to create one of the largest biodiversity archives in the world and therefore to encourage people to conserve the planet's most vulnerable animals.
The photographer responsible for the project, Joel Sartore, has photographed more than 7,000 species, and aims to photograph a total of 12,000 during the 25 years of the project.
The most interested can visit this "ark" of photographs in the Gallery of Biodiversity, in the Living Science Centre, located inside Porto’s Botanical Garden (Rua do Campo Alegre, 1191, 4150-181), and to verify the quantity of species that still can save.
