According to Eric Hansen, author of "Orchid Fever: A Horticultural Tale of Love, Lust and Lunacy", the orchids are the cause of a vicious that can transform to madness.
They reproduce by spreading seeds all over the nature and, in cultive, by in-vitro reproduction, division of clumps and others.
Orchids cohabit with animals and fungi, and need them to survive.
Although their irregular destribution, orchid are found anywhere in the planet. Due to this geographic extension, the species have very positive conditions of adaptation, adding many pollinators agents that are present in those areas.

Therefore, it is a family in an active evolutive cicle. Orchides can grow incommon interest in lovers of this tipw of species.
