Porto’s City Park is considered the largest urban park in the country. It is located in one of the most-known areas of the city, Matosinhos.

The fauna and flora of this place make it a characteristic place for its beauty and diversity.

When visiting the park by the sea front you can see the smaller side of the park which, is often visited by seabirds such as the dark-winged gull, the silver gull and the common crane once it’s closer to the sea.

Continuing eastward, the land is lawn and the common sparrow, white alveola and flocks of starlings can be observed.

On the other hand, if you continue in this direction, you will reach the central zone of the park, where there is a rectangular lake occupied by species such as the grey heron, the mallard duck and the water hen.

It is at the "North" entrance that the most forested area of the park is located. Consisting of large-dimensioned pine and eucalyptus trees, this area is very conducive to the visit of birds such as the common wood pigeon, the common magpie, the eurasian collared dove and the blackbird.
