Have you ever thought about Seagulls?

It is impossible to walk in Porto City and don't see a seagull because this is a city located near by the sea. This is one of the birds that we can almost say that they belong to our day to day, when we wait for the bus they are there, when we try to reach some place they almost come against us, but have you ever thought about this weird bird's species?

Here are some curiosities about our friends (or enemies) seagulls:

1- Once they spend a lot of time near salty water, seagulls have developed the ability to filter the salty water and make it good to drink;
2- This birds aren't known for giving a lot of significance to their relationships with both their own species and other species, that is why they have aggressive attitudes not only between themselves but also with humans, for example;
3- They are cannibals! It is true, once they don't create bounds between themselves they eat not only the babies from other seagulls but also adult ones so that they can eat them;
4- The biggest seagull in the world calls "black-backed" and has 1,5 meters of wingspan and the smalles knonw has "the little seagull" measures a little more than half a meter;
5- They are good meteorologists! Here in Portugal we have this proverb "Seagulls on land storm in the sea!". Now you know if you see seagulls far from the sea bad weather is about to star;
6- About the place to hatch their eggs seagulls don't complicate too much, they make the nest anywhere, rocks, weeds, roofs, on the tree banches and even inside the trunk.
